Bensalem Memorial Day Tournament.  

 

The Tri Township 11's Won the Bensalem Memorial Day Tournament. The Baseball Titans played good Baseball all weekend, defeating Middletown, Northampton Red, Paterson NJ, and finally in the Championship game, beating the tournament host Bensalem in extra innings.  

The pitching staff was awesome only allowing 9 runs in the four games. Robert Philipps threw 8 strong innings, Luke Rossi threw 6 innings not allowing a hit, Anthony Bozzelli pitched 5.2/3 strong innings only allowing 2 runs. Closers, David Yanni and Michael Broderick were called on to shut teams down in late innings. The staff held the other teams to a .151 Batting Ave. Against. Hunter Smith caught 24 innings not allowing any past balls and threw out the only runner who tried to steal!  

Tri Township's Bats plated 22 runs and had 34 hits batting a healthy .333, Cole German, Ian McIntosh, Peter Oline, and Ross Wilson all lead the Hit brigade.Those players alone accounted for 10 of Tri Townships runs. The Titans were tourture on the bases all weekend.  

In the last inning of the Championship game Tri Township was losing 4-3. Ian McIntosh blasted a ball down the left field line that was snagged on an incredible play by the Bensalem Left Fielder, taking away a Double. Upstepped TT's Anthony Bozzelli, who creamed an 0-0 pitch into the left center gap. On the dead run, the same Left Fielder made another diving play robbing Anthony of at least a double. With two outs Luke Rossi saddled up, got ahead in the count 2-0, and stroked a single into center field. Luke advanced on a past ball, and Hunter Smith lined a 1-0 pitch into center, scoring Rossi and tieing the game. It was all Tri Township after that, who put together a 4 run inning in the top of the extra. Where Michael Broderick took control from there. It was Champagne time, for the Titans.
