Tri-Township Baseball again in the State Championship Game

Tri-Township Baseball faces hometown Pine Forge in the Senior Babe Ruth State Championship game tonight, with the winner earning a birth to the Mid-Atlantic Regional to be held in just two weeks. For the past five years, Tri-Township, West End, and Pine Forge have dominated Senior Babe Ruth and this year is no different as two of these powerhouses face off against eachother.

Tri-Township which has outscored all other opponents 31-3, lost a close one to Pine Forge Sunday afternoon.  Tri-Township has one of those days where no matter how hard they hit the ball to the fence, in the gaps, and in the holes, it always seemed to find the glove of a Pine Forge player making a spectacular play.  In the end a 0-0 game was opened up when with two-outs,t he Tri-Township pitcher had a hard time finding the plate resulting walks to the 8th and 9th hole batters.  A hard grounder in the hole was fielded by the short stop but an error on the play, led to two Pine Forge runs, adn the only runs they needed in a narrow 3-1 victory that saw Tri-Township leave 11 runs on base in scoring position. Nothing can be taken away from Pine Forge,a s they did make the plays, but Tri-Township is confident it can continue its precision pitching, otherwise stellar defense, and hard hit balls that will surely find a hole sometime to victory and another State Championship.  Last year they won five straight games to win an Abderdeen tournament, and that showed the metal and heart of these young men.  Nothing is beyond reach and that all starts with teamwork, chemistry and their coaches Joe Bound and Ken Irwin.

So from the heart and soul of Bucks County, go Tri-Township!!!
